Our History
Dorplan is a family company that was established in 1990 in North London, supplying architectural ironmongery to the construction industry. Since then the market has changed considerably. The industry moved away from the traditional approach of component site installation towards the emergence of the now well-known ‘doorset’.
As the industry moved on, so did Dorplan, combining doorsets and ironmongery as a single-source solution with 3rd-party accreditation. It also literally moved, as expansion provided new opportunities. In 2009 the company moved to purpose-built premises to the north of Cambridge.
Today, 30 years on, Dorplan continues to evolve in tune with changing markets and customer needs. It has a diverse product range to suit multiple types of settings and offers customers extensive technical and project management support to ensure that projects run smoothly to time and budget.
