PuraTouchPuratouch Infection Control Doorsets

Doors designed to support control of infection in sterile and hygienic environments. Supplied as complete doorsets with associated ironmongery.

These products are designed for use in hygiene-sensitive and sterile environments.

Viral and Antibacterial Resistance

Doorsets and associated ironmongery can be coated in PuraTouch+ TM solution as an optional extra during manufacture, which offers permanent resistance to 99.9% of bacteria. It has been tested in conjunction with coronavirus to ISO 21702:2019 (antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces) when applied during manufacture. The low VOC content and BREEAM compliance of PuraTouch+ TM solution also makes it an environmentally-friendly choice.

Fire-Rated to maintain Class 1 and 0

PuraTouch+ TM solution has been fire-tested to ensure this application maintains Class 1 and Class 0 fire ratings. This makes it suitable for use in areas where there is protection to control of fire spread along walls and surfaces.

Colours & Finish

PuraTouch+ TM solution is provided as standard in a clear translucent finish so that it will not change the appearance that you are used to in materials and finishes. It can also be supplied in solid colours to enable you to purchase products with factory finishes to the colour of your choice.

Pre-Finished & Veneered Doorsets

The most frequently used door finishes benefit from being suitable for the PuraTouch+ TM solution factory-applied clear coating. Providing this enduring transparent lacquer is not only fighting bacteria and viruses but also providing a lasting protection to the doorset finish.

Laminates

PuraTouch high-pressure laminates are suitable for doors in any type of building where hygiene and infection control are priorities. They are low maintenance, as their smooth surfaces and high level of resistance to impact offer increased longevity and durable good looks.

For an even higher level of protection, the lamination can be coated in our PuraTouch+ TM solution, giving permanent, high-level resistance to viral and bacterial infection. The solution is scratch- and chemical-resistant so doors can be used and cleaned as normal with no reduction in efficacy.

Dorplan offer doors faces with the full range of Formica, Polyrey and Egger laminates or other laminates of your choice.

Laminated doors are supplied with either exposed or concealed lipping detail. They are available in a large range of colours and effects. Vision panel beadings are made of hardwood and supplied in an appropriate species to compliment the lipping.

Encapsulated Doorsets

Post-formed doors are widely used in healthcare, laboratory, education and retail sectors, and where the maintenance of sterile hygiene conditions is critical. Fully encapsulated doors and frames provide excellent resistance to infection.

The materials used can be given permanent, high-level resistance to viral and bacterial infection with our PuraTouch+ TM solution. When applied during manufacture the solution is scratch- and chemical-resistant so doors can be used and cleaned as normal with no reduction in efficacy.

The fire ratings of PuraTouch+ TM solution complement our UV-stable and PVC-free materials, which eliminate the risk associated with the toxic fumes that PVC gives off when burning.

Doors can be faced full height or part way up with contrasting finishes to other exposed areas of the door faces.

Vision panel beading is covered with the same protection to complete the coverage in the protective material.

Frames are generally encapsulated to provide the continuity of protection in respect of both impact protection and hygiene performance.

Other products such as wall sheet, handrails, corner and edge guards are available to complete the protection package requirements in a coordinated manner.

PuraTouch Doorsets

The benefits of having doors pre-hung in frames with relevant hardware morticing works carried out in the factory is increasingly seen as the obvious solution to the demands on contractors. This reduces the labour force required on site, the level of skill required to install, the management resources required to oversee and the installation time required on site. This all helps in projects where programmes are tight and excellence of carpentry works is borne by CNC machinery in the factory which take the onus of responsibility from site level to production level.

Servicing items available:

  • Hinges- all types including concealed Tectus and Soss hinges
  • Floor springs and pivot accessories
  • Concealed jamb and overhead door closers
  • Flush bolts
  • Mortice locks, latches, and card access control lockcases
  • Multipoint security entrance door locks, letter plates and door viewers
  • Sliding door recesses, flush handle recesses
  • Fire and acoustic integrity seals.

Doors can be delivered in their frames for simple quick installation or as often required, frames can be delivered ahead of doors so surrounding trades can continue, doors are delivered later and fixed into the prepared frames reducing the risk of damage to doors by arriving late on in the project.

The balance of ironmongery where not installed to the doors is packed according to schedules in doorsets boxes , labelled and delivered to site for easy access and installation by the carpentry team.

Door Construction

PuraTouch cores are available in either 3 layer particle board or solid timber laminated construction.

Lipping’s

To cover and protect the door core material, edges are applied with a hardwood lipping, which is usually 7mm thick. There are two main types of lippings known as concealed or exposed:

‘Concealed’ – The more general detail in edge lipping doors. The door core is cut and the lipping is fixed by high pressure bonding. The door facings are then applied concealing the edges of lipping’s

‘Exposed’ – This option is often used where corners of doors maybe subjected to more impact and therefore chances of damage are reduced or where an alternative finish can be used to create a visual contrast.
